Child & Adolescent Counseling

A safe place to be heard, understood, and supported.

Maybe this feels familiar...

"Lately, I've noticed my teen doesn't seem like themselves. They're overwhelmed by school, friendships, or the pressure of growing up, but every time I ask how they're doing, I hear, 'I'm fine.' I know something is weighing on them, yet I don't know how to reach them anymore. More than anything, I just want to understand what they're going through and know how to support them without pushing them away."

What Is Counseling?

A supportive space to explore, understand, and grow.

Counseling is a supportive space where children and teens can slow down, explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with guidance and understanding. Together, we make sense of what they are going through, helping them better understand themselves and their emotions. Counseling is not about changing who they are or simply talking about problems. It is about building self-awareness, developing healthier ways to navigate challenges, and learning skills that support their wellbeing and growth.

Who Counseling May Support

Counseling may be helpful for children and teens who struggle with...

02

Sad & Withdrawn

Losing interest in things they once enjoyed or becoming increasingly self-critical.

Together, we can make room for these feelings and slowly reconnect with what brings light.

03

Big Emotions

Becoming easily frustrated, shutting down, or struggling to recover after setbacks.

Together, we can practice noticing early signs and calming strategies that feel right.

04

Friendship Stress

Feeling left out, navigating conflict, worrying about fitting in, or avoiding social situations.

Together, we can practice conversations and build confidence in friendships.

05

School Pressure

Experiencing performance anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or difficulty coping with academic demands.

Together, we can reset expectations and build sustainable ways to study and rest.

How I Support Children & Teens
01

Hold space without judgment

I create an environment where teens feel safe to be honest, with no pressure to perform and no fear of being judged.

02

Connect thoughts, feelings & actions

I help teens understand the link between what they think, how they feel, and how they respond, making patterns visible so they can make informed choices.

03

Practice real-life coping skills

Sessions include practicing communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation strategies that teens can use outside the counseling room.

I may use CBT-based strategies, DBT skills, and ACT-informed approaches, not as labels but as practical tools that help children understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions.

What Sessions May Look Like

What happens during counseling sessions?

Each child is different, so sessions are tailored to their needs. Sessions may include talking and reflection, exploring real-life situations, practicing coping strategies, learning communication skills, and creative activities when helpful.
